Joy

Designed by

Nanna Ditzel

1987

In 1987, Nanna Ditzel returned to Denmark after 18 years in London and settled in an old townhouse in the centre of Copenhagen. The house contained Nanna's private home, her design office and a carpentry workshop, and, as so often before, Nanna furnished it with her own creations. However, she lacked a dressing table, so she designed Joy, which fitted right between two of the bedroom windows. Today, it is sold as a mirrored piece of furniture for use as a dressing table or as a piece of hallway furniture. The series also includes a bench originally designed to be an extension of the bed Joy - the latter is no longer in production.
