Vilette
Designed by
Nanna Ditzel
1966
With the Polyether Furniture of 1966, Nanna Ditzel transformed the conventional sofa group into a series of affordable, lightweight, body-friendly elements without skeletons or legs. She dressed them in brightly-coloured knitted fabric, and they functioned as building blocks that could be combined as needed. The polyether furniture epitomises the free living space of the stairscapes and the integration of furniture, colour and space. They were well suited to the times and were once produced in Denmark, Sweden, and England.
