Bench For Two

Designed by

Nanna Ditzel

1989

On the Bench for Two, two persons sit vis-a-vis each other at a right angle. The striped screen-printed pattern on the surfaces creates a strong sense of movement. The form is made of thin, strong aeroplane veneer. Nanna Ditzel first designed a square table for the bench, but her daughter Dennie suggested that the table should be a quarter circle, completing the shape like a piece of cake.
The Bench for Two was awarded Gold Medal at Asahikawa, Japan in 1990.
Presented at The Cabinetmakers’ Guild exhibition in 1990.
