Brooch
Designed by
Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel
1953
This brooch was inspired by a dark metal spindle with ivory stripes that Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel saw in the Louvre Museum during a trip to Paris in 1949. The harmonious oval brooch looks full and heavy, but is actually quite light, as it was designed not to weigh down the fabric to which it was attached. The couple also designed a silver and enamel paper knife.
Silver with red and black enamel
