Hallingdal 65
Designed by
Nanna Ditzel
1965
In the autumn of 1964, Halling-Koch asked Nanna to design an extensive textile collection to be the starting point for the Halling-Koch Design Centre. The resultant collection included Hallingdal, which quickly became a very popular upholstery fabric and remains so to this day. Hallingdal and the rest of the collection were presented in a new and bright colour scheme, including pink, blue, turquoise, red, and orange - all colours that were unusual in textiles at the time. The colours were not based on any kind of system, but simply on Nanna Ditzel’s sense of colour. The colour scheme has been continuously revised and today the upholstery fabric is available in 58 different colours.
